Your instructor will set up some anchors and ropes on climbing routes so that you can enjoy the climbs with the safety and protection of a rope above you at all times. They will show you how to fit your harness and helmet, as well as teach you how to 'tie in' to the rope and belay your climbing partner. Your instructor will also encourage you to continually check yourself and your climbing partner to ensure that all knots and equipment are being used correctly.
